MEET OUR ANIMALS
Macaulay College is home to a number of animals and you can learn a bit more about them here!
Donkeys
Betty and Jimmy
Betty and Jimmy are very popular with our students and love being walked around the farm, although they can be very stubborn sometimes!

Eriskay Pony
Solas
Our old boy, Solas, can be rather shy, but enjoys contact once he gets to know you. Eriskay ponies are rarer than Giant Pandas!
Goats
June and Twilight
Our goats, June and Twilight are very friendly and enjoy getting Daniel’s apple core after lunch.
Kune Kune Pigs
Daisy, Augustus, Mavis and piglets
Three Kune Kune pigs live permanently at the farm. When the piglets arrive the timber building becomes very busy with staff and students wanting to see the very cute piglets.
Sheep
We mostly have Hebridean sheep at the college, their small size makes them ideal for the students to work with. We also have black face sheep and ‘Mr Friendly’ who is a Suffolk. The daily lamb count at lambing time is a favourite activity for some students.
Chickens
Looking after our free-range hens is a daily activity at the college, once the hens have been fed and their house cleaned, the eggs are then processed and put for sale at our honesty box or use for baking.
Rabbits
Fluffy and Daphne
Daphne and Fluffy are our farm rabbits. Patting Fluffy is a lovely experience.
Corn Snake
Mozart
Mozart our corn snake is popular with many of our students (although not so much with some!). His name comes from the stunning piano key markings on his belly.
